The September 17th, 2016 Fairfield county wedding of Siobhan and Jack was one spectacular event to remember given that this couple’s original venue closed down mere months before their wedding! This is not the first or last time in the history of weddings that a venue closes down unexpectedly, but what does one do with just months to spare in finding a new space?! After some understandable panic, it became crystal clear to the couple to host their wedding at the beautiful private home of the bride’s family in Easton, CT. With ample property space for an outdoor tented wedding, the couple enlisted the expertise of Sperry Tents and event planner William Parkinson Events to bring their vision to life. As the old saying goes, “Where there is a will, there is a way!”
Siobhan and Jack were married off site at Saint Aloysius Church in New Canaan, CT, followed by a festive outdoor cocktail hour and tented reception. It was an absolute gorgeous September day full of love, laughter and ample celebration. It was such a pleasure to see this couple have the wedding of their dreams pull together after so much stress in losing their original venue. In fact, their wedding celebration exceeded their original plan!
Siobhan was referred to me by another wedding makeup artist who was already booked for the same date. Siobhan had expressed in advance her frustration in finding a makeup artist that would listen to her and provide a look that she would love. As a professional makeup artist it does not matter how talented you are if you don’t know how to listen, ask the right questions and communicate with your client. I reassured her, as I do with all of my brides, that I was going to take the absolute best care of her needs, and nail the makeup look she had envisioned for her wedding day.
We met over the summer for her makeup trial and decided to go with a minimal but very classic bridal look. Siobhan is so naturally pretty and a less is more makeup wearer, so I kept her eye makeup very soft with a sheer wash of shadow all over her lid, a bold liquid liner on top and lots of individual lashes by Ardell. I airbrushed her complexion and kept her cheeks and lips flushed with a rosy pop of color. Fairfield county wedding hairstylist, Lachers Reese, provided modern bridal hair styles for Siobhan and her bridal party. I am so in love with these gorgeous images captured by Fairfield county wedding photographers, Vicki + Erik .
Siobhan, thank you for choosing me as your wedding day makeup artist! I truly enjoyed working with and your bridal party. As always, I cannot thank enough fellow makeup artist and friend, Hope Landry-Cilen for her assistance with Siobhan’s bridal party. I often call upon Hope for her assistance with my larger bridal parties as she always executes such beautiful makeup while being such a great representation of all that I stand for. Your the best Hope!
